Casting Deflashing & Sawing
Foundry Casting Deflashing & Sawing
Foundry casting deflashing and sawing are critical processes in the metal casting industry, ensuring the quality and precision of finished products. Deflashing involves the removal of excess material or flash, that remains on castings after the metal has solidified. This step is essential for achieving the desired surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Additionally, sawing is used to trim and cut castings to specific lengths or shapes, facilitating further processing and integration into final assemblies. Together, these processes enhance the overall efficiency and quality of foundry operations.

Trimming and Degating
FS&D, through it’s partner companies provides complete trimming and degating solutions. These include robotic based trim presses which are able to handle up to 1,000 parts per hour and feature tooling changers for in-cycle part exchanges.

Robotic Deflashing Cell
In an effort to reduce labor content, FS&D, in consultation with it’s equipment partners, has designed and implemented complete automated specialty lines for casting-finishing.

Automated Casting Sawing
Automated casting sawing offers precision, efficiency, and consistency in processing materials, reducing the likelihood of human error.
